Armenia recognized as Destination of 2026 in Cyprus

15 April, 2026

On April 15, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Cyprus, in cooperation with the Cyprus Travel Writers and Journalists Society, hosted an event presenting Armenia an award as the “Destination of 2026,” following its designation by the Society.

The event, held at the Pharos Arts Foundation in Nicosia, brought together officials, representatives of diplomatic corps, heads of travel agencies and tour operators, travel bloggers, media representatives and influencers and other stakeholders from the tourism sector.

The programme included the official presentation of the “Destination of 2026” recognition to Armenia, followed by statements of institutional representatives underscoring the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the sphere of tourism.

In her remarks, Ambassador Inna Torgomyan highlighted the significance of the award and expressed appreciation for the recognition, noting that it provides an important opportunity to further promote Armenia’s visibility as an attractive and competitive tourism destination.

Armenia’s rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and tourism potential were presented through visual materials and publications, offering attendees a comprehensive overview of the country’s diverse travel experiences.

During the event, guests were introduced to a variety of traditional dishes representing Armenian cuisine.  A presentation by Maze Trade showcased a selection of Armenian spirits available in Cyprus, offering participants the opportunity to discover and experience their distinct flavors.

The cultural programme was further enriched by a musical performance from the renowned Cypriot-Armenian artist Hovig․
